Palmetto Brewing Company

Palmetto Brewing Company was the first licensed brewery to open in the state of South Carolina after the fall of Prohibition. Palmetto has played an important role in the rise of craft brewing within the state, and while many breweries now call South Carolina home, only Palmetto can call itself the first and original. You can still find us on Huger Street in downtown Charleston in the very same building in which the brewery was founded in 1993.
